Wowzers! How stunning is this car? On a trip to Los Angeles in 2019, my husband and I stopped off at the Lyon’s Air Museum. While at this amazing museum, we noticed this incredible 1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ2 race car. I knew I needed to paint her.
When I came home, I painted the left side of her, and submitted the painting to that year’s National Oil & Acrylic Painter’s Society Best of America exhibition. The painting not only got in, but sold immediately to a beloved collector.
Due to the pandemic, my vehicle reference photo library has become sparce. I came upon the full image of this amazing TZ2, and decided to bring her to life on a 5′ linen canvas. She took me several weeks to create, but I am so happy with how she turned out. I hope she connects with a collector and she brings them as much joy as she was for me to create.
As will all my paintings, this was created using the highest quality acrylic paints. My technique is to paint with my fingers, palms, and brushes for my signature photorealistic/abstract feel. I love painting with my hands.
