Amari

The name “Amari” holds the meaning of “strength”, “loved” and “promised by God”. This original oil painting on canvas is 60″ x 48″ also has a generous amount of metal leafing in her headdress. She is a woman of the Omo Valley in Ethiopia. I was deeply moved by her gaze and sense of grace I could feel in her. I built the painting and chose her name to convey this! “Amari” actually had her first public outing at the “Pontiac Arts Crawl” this summer and it was joyous to me as the artist to see the fantastic response the public had to her!
