Chernobyl, school

I took this picture while visiting my family in Ukraine. This was at a school in Chornobyl, where time stopped forever. A gas mask inside an old and broken TV for me as a representation of Soviet Union hiding reality and information from their people and the whole world in general. Civilians were totally unaware of the danger that they were put to. For 36 hours after the explosion, people didn’t get any information about what happened or instructions on how to protect themselves and their children which made consequences of tragedy even higher.
