Valletta is the seaport and capital of the Mediterranean island nation of Malta. Also, known as the Fortress City, was established in the 1500s with its magnificent forts, cathedral and bastions. It was completed in the short time of 15 years. This photograph was in color and later transitioned to black and white to highlight the opposition between light and darkness in a historic place.
