This image is a photomontage that I created digitally using two different sources. The indoor pool is located in San Simeon, California, at the Hearst Castle. The nude subject was photographed outdoors on a cloudy day in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Her skin is actually covered in ashes from a controlled brush fire burn, and the ashes provided the black background I needed to match the tones in the dark pool. They also provide an additional touch of surrealism, visually hinting that the subject is on, but not actually in the water.
