It’s the beginning of the great migration in Kenya, Maasai Mara. To the far right is a watering hole that I went to, to try and get patterns of zebra drinking… to the far left is a solitary lioness patiently waiting in the high grass. As I’m setting up to film what I think may be a kill, balloons start going up in the distance. These are tourists getting a beautiful sunset view over the Mara. The lioness never did get an opportunity, another jeep approached her and gave away her location to the zebras. There is much controversy about events like that happening – it’s essentially code to never give away the position of an animal hunting. Nikon Z9, Sigma 60-600mm Sport, just before sunset.
